Baby Registry Must-Haves
Congratulations! You're having a baby! This is such an incredibly exciting time but, as a mom, I know how overwhelming it can quickly become, trying to figure out exactly what to add to your registry. What do you need now? What can wait until later? We've put together a list of our baby registry must-haves and hope it helps ease your mind!
Crib Mattress
Babies spend at least 18-20 hours per day sleeping and do the majority of their growing during the first year. With all this time in their cribs, finding a crib mattress that will keep your baby cool, comfortable and, most importantly, safe, is critical. If you're going to invest in something for your baby, invest in the crib mattress. Feeding Time Essentials
Whether you're planning on breastfeeding or bottle-feeding, setting yourself up for a comfortable journey is the key to success (and less stress!) I recommend buying one of a few bottles and pacifiers to test each of them out until you discover which one your baby loves most. Find a local lactation consultant to help with nursing and look into having your baby's mouth checked for lip or tongue ties. Finally, make sure you've got a comfortable nursing pillow - one that's comfortable, has enough height to support your baby in different feeding positions, whether you're breastfeeding or bottle feeding.
Oh, the Diaper Changes
I'm probably not the first person to tell you you'll be changing lots of diapers! There are tons of changing pad options out there. Find one that's easy to put together, grows with your baby and that doesn't break the bank. Remember, the crib is just the vessel for your crib mattress. Splurge on the mattress, not the crib. Just remember to keep any decorations or pillows out of your baby's crib to keep it a safe sleep space!
